Tasting notes
The 2009 Coteaux Champenois La Côte aux Enfants is flat-out stunning. I am, quite frankly, shocked by its primary intensity. What a wine. Black cherry, plum, mocha, new leather, licorice and spice soar out of the glass. All the elements are so well balanced. There's a bit more concentration, extraction, oak and overall richness here vis-a-vis the 2019, but it works so well.

The 2009 La Cȏte aux Enfants, Bollinger's Coteaux Champenois, is stunningly beautiful in this vintage. Layers of warm, radiant fruit emerge gracefully from this elegant, sublime Pinot. The wine's balance and its potential are both first rate. Dec 10, www.vinous.com
