This had a slightly dodgy cork, unfortunately. Strong autumn mulch notes on the nose. Denser, a bit firmer and more stolid than the Ponsot 97 served alongside. Heady, gamey nose with intensity and charm and a hint of orange peel. Taffeta texture and a hint of smokiness. Quite intense. (JR)

NB vintage. This was from a bottle that happened to be open. Lovely fox red, very shaded. Warmed fraises des bois nose with some animal. Rich and fresh. Strawberries certainly. (JR)
