Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2004-2014, Robert Parker, Dec 2004

One of the up-and-coming estates from the underrated Cotes du Rhone-Villages appellation of Rasteau, Bressy-Masson has turned out an impressive 2003 Rasteau a la Gloire de Mon Pere. Structured, with loads of tannin as well as a big, sweet, chocolatey nose with notions of scorched earth, ripe black cherry fruit, and a candied sweetness, this is an opulent, full-throttle Cotes du Rhone-Villages with soft tannin, and high glycerin, alcohol, and structure. It is a blend of 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre that should drink well for a decade. Importers: Daniel Johnnes, Jeroboam Imports, New York, NY; tel. (212) 625-2505 and World Shippers and Importers, Philadelphia, PA; tel. (215) 732-2018
