Tasting notes
The pale yellow NV Champagne Grand Cru Tradition Brut is a highly appealing and elegant aperitif, characterized by clean, pure, fruity flavors, medium body, and notable clarity. Its delightful notes of peaches, fresh flowers, red berries, and fresh brioche are followed by a rounded palate with a pillowy mousse and a clean finish. Based around 2019, with 40% reserve wines in the Pinot Noir-dominated blend, which includes 20% Chardonnay, it was disgorged in June 2025 with 6 grams per liter dosage. Drink now or over the next couple of years.

Disgorged in October 2020 with six grams per liter dosage, the latest rendition of Coutier's NV Brut Grand Cru Tradition is based on the 2013 vintage, complemented by fully 40% reserve wines. Exhibiting notions of waxy orchard fruit, honeycomb, mint, tangerine oil and fresh pastry, it's medium to full-bodied, bright and pillowy, with tangy acids and a fleshy core of fruit. Full of flavor and character, this is a fine effort.
Coutier's NV Brut Tradition Grand Cru is absolutely gorgeous. Scents of baked apple, Mirabelle, brioche, spice and white flowers give the wine its brightness and focus. The Brut Tradition is 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, with the Pinot coming through in the wine's fruit profile and weight and the Chardonnay adding lovely aromatic top notes. This is another superb Champagne from Coutier that delivers exceptional quality and personality for the money. This release is based on 2013, with the addition of some reserve wines. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: January 2016.
