The outstanding 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Etienne Gonnet has a dense ruby/purple color as well as aromas of sweet vanilla, lavender, roasted herbs, pepper, cherry, plum, and cassis fruit. It is an opulent, expansive effort with supple tannin, ample complexity, and a classic, long, 40+ second finish.
