Tasting notes
The 2006 Barolo Cannubi Boschis is a wine of pedigree, nuance and stylishness. Fresh and vibrant in the glass, the 2016 is developing beautifully in bottle. Sweet floral notes add lift to the dark Cannubi Boschis fruit. Sandrone's Cannubi Boschis has never been this finessed, this elegant. This is the best bottle of the 2006 I have tasted. What a head-turner it is!

Barolo. Lustrous, concentrated ruby. Intense and deep red-fruit nose and without any sign of age. On the palate, the same youthfulness paired with great generosity of fruit and sleek, long-lasting crunchy tannins. (WS)
The 2006 Barolo Cannubi Boschis (Library Release) is almost shocking to taste after the 2013s, once again pointing out how much stylistic evolution has taken place here over the last handful of vintages. Dark cherry, mocha, plum, smoke and licorice are all given soft, voluptuous contours from the French oak. A huge, deep wine, the 2006 is just now entering the very early part of what promises to be a long drinking window. The 2006 is gorgeous, but it is also more marked by oak than today's wines are.
Barolo. Concentrated ruby with orange rim. Sweet cream and cherry and herb liqueur. Straightforward sweet fruitcake impression. Not enormously complex, but may develop. (WS)
