Score 76/100 · Drink 2021, Neal Martin, Sep 2022

The 1980 Léoville-Poyferré has a light and autumnal, leafy nose with touches of singed leather. The palate is fully mature with harsh tannins and an attenuated finish that is blunt and mean. Past its best. Tasted at the vertical tasting with Didier Cuvelier in 2009.

Very leafy nose. Delicate, light and fresh. Balanced and undemonstrative but well preserved. (JH)
