Score 70/100 · Drink 2018-2022, Neal Martin, Mar 2018

The 1969 Ausone comes from a growing season you rarely see these days. It has a light scorched earthy, leather bouquet, the fruit long faded. There is a dislikable dirty dishwater scent. The palate is light with raw tannin and a hollow, astringent finish. Past its best. Tasted at the Ausone vertical in London.
