An impressive Crozes Hermitage, the 2003 Crozes Hermitage Le Clos shows plenty of sweet currant fruit intermixed with leather, spiced meat, underbrush and graphite. Fully mature on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, it needs to be consumed over the coming 2-3 years. This was a brilliant showing from Delas, and across the board the wines have superb fruit and texture, with mostly youthful profiles.

Full ruby. Brooding aromas of black cherry, smoked meat and roasted oak. Sweet and dense but with more minerality and lift than the Tour d'Albon. Nicely delineated flavors show good inner-palate power as well as more finesse on the end. Here the tannins are ripe and fine. A superb Crozes-Hermitage in the making.
