1997 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes

Good full red. Roasted herbs, ripe plum and chocolate on the nose. More texture and sweetness in the mouth, but still a wine of modest complexity and personality. Better-balanced and more delineated than the normale. Here there's more extract to support the substantial tannins, but there's still a faint dry edge to the finish.
