Score 90/100 · Drink 2001-2012, Robert Parker, Oct 1997

Domaine de la Mordoree's 1995 Chateauneuf du Pape is one of the finest wines of this top flight vintage (the best since 1989 and 1990). Made from 70% old vine Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 5% Vaccarese, and 5% Cinsault, this is a large-scaled, rich, full-bodied wine that needs another 2-3 years of cellaring. It reveals a dense purple color, and a tight but promising nose of herbes de Provence, kirsch, smoke, and pepper. Full-bodied, concentrated, and moderately tannic, this wine should be at its best between 2001-2012. Importer: Kysela Pere et Fils, Winchester, VA; tel (540) 888-7939
