Tasting notes
I have never tasted this wine before, but this example is a terrific, unfiltered, intense, rich Vin de Pays. The saturated, opaque dark ruby/purple color is followed by lingering, intense, spicy, peppery, jammy black-cherry scents. Voluptuously-textured, with superb concentration, this full-bodied, beautifully pure, intense, layered wine is a dead-ringer for a top-notch Chateauneuf du Pape or Coteaux de Baux. Availability is limited, but readers who have access to it should consider buying it by the case. Already delicious, it possesses the stuffing and intensity to last for a decade. Very limited in availability. Importer: a Daniel Johnnes Selection, Jeroboam Imports, New York, NY; tel. (212) 374-9415.
