Bracing aromas of minerals, mint and stone, with a whiff of honey. Juicy and highly concentrated, with vibrant flavors of lime blossom, mint, honey and stone. A penetrating wine with lovely inner-mouth energy. Distinctly honeyed on the end. "In a Raveneau style," notes Hervet.

Copious quantities of white flowers, minerals, and smoky gun flint can be discerned in the aromatic profile of the 2002 Chablis Montmains (domaine). This medium-bodied wine exhibits excellent depth, focus, and length. Its satin-textured character coats the palate with flint, minerals, seashells, and pears that linger in its expressive finish. Projected maturity: now-2009. While Bernard Hervet, who oversees both Bouchard and William Fevre, prefers the 2000 vintage in Chablis “for its minerality and austerity,” your author believes 2002 is the finest set of wines to have been produced at this estate/negociant firm in many years. Tucked in for future development on the nose. Though underneath, relatively broad. Concentrated and fine. (JR)

Pale green color. Vibrant but tight nose hints at lime, green apple and minerals. Dense and fat but fresh, with good juicy acidity buffering the wine's texture. Finishes long, bright and suave, with enticing flavors of pineapple and ripe grapefruit. Fresher than usual for this cru, notes Seguier, as the fruit was picked before the official harvest start.
