Green, nerveux nose with mineral undertow. Sweet start on the palate, then creamy. A very intriguing, sleek, sophisticated wine. Quite sinewy. Long. (JR)
Aromas of apple, clove, stone and white flowers. Chewy and superrich, but with lively acidity leavening the wine's thickness of texture and full ripeness. The flavors of apple, powdered stone and white flowers show a compelling sweetness, as well as lovely lift, right through to the very long finish. At once wonderfully rich and crisp, and distinctly open-knit for young Chevalier-Montrachet.
This however is a real step up in elegance with impressively high-toned aromas of pear, apple and acacia blossom. The flavor profile is rather forward though much more precise than the typical '03 with a richly detailed finish of bitter lemon, stones and a hint of pain grillé. Allen Meadows, Burghound.
