(still in barrel) Knockout nose combines candied stone fruits, crushed rock and gunflint; slightly reduced. Then rich but juicy and penetrating, with strong minerality and a saline element contributing to the overall impression of dryness. Suggestions of exotic dried fruits. Finishes strong but a bit youthfully aggressive. A bit awkward in its current condition but very rich.

Reduced, minerally nose shows a lightly roasted quality. Fat, sweet and creamy, with expressive flavors of pineapple, grapefruit, minerals and roasted nuts. Seems a bit sweet and easy for Chevalier-Montrachet, but Martin Prieur notes that this wine is always ready early here.
