Cool, pure aromas of crushed stone, iodine and baking spices. Sexy, sappy and dense, with stone, spiced apple and flint flavors offering uncanny breadth and depth for the vintage. This has the thickness of 2003 without any loss of focus. Finishes supple and very long.

Loads of spices can be found in the nose of the outstanding, medium-bodied 2003 Chevalier Montrachet (white). Soft, generous, and dense, this wine is pure and admirably detailed. Apple and pear on the nose, with a bit less minerality than normal for this grand cru. Then chewy and suave in the mouth; not overly sweet or particularly expressive today but shows a fairly lush texture. Rather backward example, finishing with a dusty, palate-coating quality and a slight dryness.
