Ramonet's 2002 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot (Rouge) is an unusually rich, lusty wine for this generally very pure-fruited, sensual vintage, offering up aromas of dark black fruits, raw cocoa and sweet soil tones, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and rather muscular palate. Fully mature, this characterful, slightly rustic red is more defined by its site than its vintage.
