Good bright, deep red. Aromatic nose combines red cherry, spicecake and pepper. Suave, fresh and sweet, with spicy red fruit flavors lifted by a peppery quality. Intriguing saline and gunpowder suggestions. Finishes with dusty tannins and tangy notes of bitter cherry, minerals and pepper.

Good full ruby-red. Aromas of blackberry pastille, violet, mint and bitter chocolate, plus a hint of tarry oak. Juicy and intensely flavored, with lovely inner-mouth perfume and impressive palate coverage. This is a step up in density and perfume than the preceding samples. Sweet black fruit and mint flavors linger nicely on the back end, where the tannins are sweet and ripe, and hit the palate late. This is more like it.
