Score 92-95/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2005

Clove and flint on the nose. Sweet, dense and powerful, with a creamy, distinctly old-viney texture. This boasts outstanding richness and extract for the vintage. Saturates the palate with flavor on the finish. These 65-year-old vines produced a moderate 35 hectoliters per hectare in 2004, compared to 42 in 1999 and just 18 in 2003, according to Boillot.
