1995 Lafon Rochet

Tasting notes
The 1995 Lafon-Rochet is quite backward on the nose with rather sultry black fruit, sous-bois and light cigar box scents. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins and earthy black fruit tones, but there is a slight shortfall in freshness and the finish is beginning to show some austerity. Tasted at La Trompette at the WIMPS Bordeaux dinner.

Very bright crimson. Quite gamey and evolved on the nose. Lots of minerals there too. Not heavy. Quite delicate really. In that it’s a light-bodied but very evolved wine. A little drying on the end. (JR)
Lively lift. Dry, a bit inky. Very lively but a bit jagged and raw. Pretty popular with other tasters. (JR)
