Tasting notes
Dark ruby, with an intense bouquet of overripe cassis, this chewy, well-endowed, full-bodied wine is reminiscent of the excellent 1970. Opulent as well as tannic, it may justify an outstanding rating in a decade. Anticipated maturity: Now-2015. Last tasted, 4/91.

A big, very ripe, overdone wine--but a delicious one. Seriously good dark-ruby color. Lots of raspberry and prune character on the nose. Full-bodied, with flavors verging on dried raisin, and toast and jam character on the aftertaste.--1989 Bordeaux horizontal. Best after 2000. James Suckling, Wine Advocate
