Tasting notes
The 2010 Isliedh Sauvignon Blanc remains a fabulous Sauvignon Blanc with unbridled honeysuckle and dried apricot notes to the fore and the palate a little crisper than I remember from last year. There are some gorgeous passion fruit and lemon thyme notes on the refined finish. This is just a superb Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now-2016. I waxed lyrical about Duncan Savage’s take on Sauvignon Blanc at Cape Point in my last South Africa report and I revisited a couple of wines this year. TA 7.7 g/l, pH 3.2, RS 3.2 g/l. 75% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Sémillon and 10 months in 50% new French oak. Funky and grassy with a creamed corn flavour. Rounded and complex, structural and refreshing. Impressive. (RH)
