Tasting notes
Light yellow. Deep aroma of nut oil, lemon and ripe peach. Rich, ripe and sweet, with a velvety texture to the flavors of pear, spices and white flowers. Finishes tactile and quite reserved, saturating the palate with bracing citrus flavor and dusty stone. This has a serious structure for aging and should really be held for five or six years. In comparison, the young '06 is more flattering today.

(a large cuvee, from vines that are mostly more than 70 years old) Exotic mandarin orange and honey aromas. Fat, round and sweet but today I don't find the focus or cut that the Maltroie shows. Finishes very ripe and a bit oaky. There's a creaminess of material here but the wine doesn't quite come alive.
