Score 94/100 · Drink 2015-2030, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Mar 2016

From the Les Bessards and les Grandes Vignes lieux-dits, the 2005 Hermitage Marquise de la Tourette is a head turner that has tons of black raspberry, blackberry, toasted spice, graphite and crushed rock aromas literally soaring from the glass. Medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, balanced and drinking great today, it will continue to evolve nicely for another decade or more.

Ruby-red. Pungent dark berry and kirsch aromas are youthfully brooding, picking up a subtle licorice quality with air. Impressively concentrated but a bit ungiving right now, offering deep, chewy dark berry preserve flavors and serious tannic grip. Pretty cranky today.

Deep ruby. Powerful, deeply concentrated cassis and blackberry aromas complicated by tobacco and espresso notes. Very rich and dense, with sweet, liqueur-like dark berry and cherry flavors and firm but harmonious tannins. Finishes luscious and sweet, with impressive concentration and length.
