Score 88/100 · Drink 2003-2011, Robert Parker, Feb 2003

The 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits a medium plum/ruby color as well as a sweet bouquet of currants, figs, underbrush, spice, wood smoke, and garrigue. Ripe, round, and delicious, with low acidity and sweet fruit, it is a charming effort with Burgundian-like texture as well as flesh. Enjoy it over the next 7-8 years. Represented by Russell Herman, Berkeley Heights, NJ; tel. (908) 771-9082, various American importers.
