Tasting notes
This wine has never been a heavyweight, nor a distinguished effort, but it has held up longer than I would have suspected. It still reveals a medium ruby color, some vegetal components, an attractive, earthy, spicy, black pepper, and cherry-scented nose, medium body, and some fruit in a compact, compressed format. Drink it up. Beaucastel is imported by Vineyard Brands, Chester, VT; tel. (802) 875-2139

About the producer

This Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate is one of the Rhône’s most famous addresses. With a history stretching back to the 16th century, Beaucastel remains family owned and run, with the fifth generation of the Perrin family – Marc, Pierre, Thomas, Cécile, Charles, Matthieu and César – at the helm today.
