Tasting notes
Unfortunately this bottle was meant to be a 2001 but it was interesting to suddenly taste a 2000 among these 2001s and certainly in this case demonstrate how much less interesting the older vintage is. Good night crimson but a rather ordinary red wine nose rather than the exciting herbal quality of CNP and heavy, foot dragging fruit. This lacks life and acidity. (JR)

Proprietor Bravay has fashioned a superb 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape. It reveals sea salt, iodine, plum, fig, pepper, and garrigue characteristics in its explosive, complex aromatic display. Multidimensional, dense, ripe, complex, and rich, with abundant aromas, flavors, glycerin, and fruit, this fleshy, moderately tannic 2000 can be drunk now and over the next 12 years.
