Tasting notes
(roughly 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier; I.D. 213027; LLSPPK): Pale orange. A highly perfumed bouquet displays scents of blood orange, redcurrant and gingerbread, plus spicy oak and floral nuances. Juicy, dense and spicy on the palate, with a smoky mineral quality lifting and sharpening the sappy citrus fruit and red berry flavors. Shows noteworthy intensity on the finish, which leaves notes of orange zest, candied rose and toasted notes behind. This Champagne's balance of power and vivacity is pretty impressive.

The pale-colored NV Brut Rose wafts from the glass with dried red cherries, crushed flowers, spices and mint. There is good elegance in the mousse, but the aromas and flavors are a bit developed and mature. I imagine the Brut Rose is best enjoyed over the next few years, notwithstanding its relatively recent disgorgement in the Fall of 2011. This bottle carries ID Code: 311030. Disgorged: Fall 2011.
About the producer

Krug is a remarkable Champagne House which only makes prestige cuvées. The wines – with their distinctive rich, complex, oxidative style – are some of the region’s best.
