The NV Recolte Noire Zéro Dosage (White Label) is a Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature that was fermented and aged in oak barrels. The wine displays a very clear and fine bouquet of white and red fruits, red apples and spicy terroir aromas. There are more greenish fruit flavors here compared to the Brut version, offering a refreshing and stimulating character on both the nose and palate. The Zéro Brut is pure, straight and fresh in the mouth, with good tension and mineral grip on the finish. It is not as round and charming as the Black Label but is straight, expressive and salty, with lime and lemon juice flavors in the aftertaste. Tasted July 2018.

7 g/l dosage, disgorged Oct 2014. 100% Pinot Noir, oak aged. Light creamy toasty aroma. Off dry, zesty and better balanced than the straight Dosnon NV Brut but the dosage sweetness still dominates the finish, hence the minus. (JH)

Produced from 100% Pinot Noir grapes in the Côte de Bar, vinified and aged in oak barrels and disgorged in May 2014 with 7 grams of residual sugar the golden colored, NV Récolte Noir Brut is quite spicy on the clear nose and noticeably influenced by oak flavors. Full-bodied and well structured on the palate, this elegant and distinctive Champagne is quite fruity and well balanced, although the finish is a little bit too strongly dominated by slightly drying, oak tannins. Serving this Champagne with food may help.

Lots of broad fruit and excitement. A tad chewy and apple skinny but very honest. Clean finish. Respectable. But not the best value. (JR)
