93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc. Winemaker Keith Mugford. See 2021 for viticulture details. Mild, dry summer, with harvest about 1 week earlier than average  due to slightly early flowering. ‘Widely considered our best-ever vintage.’ Picked 18 March. Fermentation in open-top steel tanks, hand-plunged four times a day. Aged for 27 months in 228-litrre French oak, 50% new.   Very deep crimson – much deeper than the 2021! Fresh and clean and nuanced. Really very nice indeed with a slight treacle-toffee aspect. Reminds me of the Cherubino 2013. Still going strong. (JR)

Bright deep crimson. Sweet polished nose. But such opulence on the palate it tastes almost Californian except that note of acidity. Really refreshiing. This would be great with food. Just a very slightly raw note on the finish. [This wine really won over the room. It’s not cheap though.] (JR)

Deep ruby. Expressive aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, spice cake, molasses, Cuban tobacco, anise and loamy earth, accented by exotic oak spices. Firm, structured and deep, showing flavors of spicy cherry, kirsch, clove and cinnamon. This really benefited from aeration, showing a rich, broad, suave texture and finishing with ample but ripe tannins and lingering licorice and pepper. .

Very dark. Extremely sweet and cassis with some overripe notes and again massively emphasised acidity. Quite tough and hard after this opulent start. Shame. I was surprised not to have been more impressed by this ‘first growth’ producer. (JR)
