The 1990 La Grande Rue has a slightly bretty, tertiary nose with a light touch of wild mint. It feels rustic and decays in the glass. The palate is, again, rustic with rather obdurate tannins, ferrous in the middle with a finish that finally delivers a little clarity. A 1990 from this vineyard ought to be much better than this.
