Score 94/100 · Drink 2000-2020, Robert Parker, Oct 1999
Sadly, there are only 2,000 bottles and 150 magnums of the extraordinary 1997 Cote Rotie La Landonne. The wine is aged in small oak casks, of which 66% are new. Made from 100% Syrah, it boasts a black/purple color as well as a sumptuous nose of roasted meats, black fruits, minerals, scorched earth, and licorice. This superb, fabulously concentrated wine has plenty of sweet tannin in addition to gorgeous layers of fruit and extract. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2020. Importer: Pressoir Deutz Winery, Inc., Arroyo Grande, CA.
