The NV Champagne Premier Cru Rosé de Blancs Brut is a bright pale pink color and is crafted around the 2022 vintage, with 94% Chardonnay and 6% Pinot Noir red wine in the blend, the Pinot coming from Bouzy. Youthful and expressive in the glass, it’s floral and inviting, with notes of preserved strawberries, rhubarb, pastry dough, and grapefruit pith. Medium-bodied, it’s zesty and sprightly, with its snappy Chardonnay shining brightly on the palate, a crispy, refreshing mousse, and a clean, stony finish. It’s prime to enjoy over the near term, and I love it for its brightness now. Disgorged December 2024 with 5 grams per liter dosage.

Medium salmon/pink, the NV Champagne Rosé De Blancs is fresh and zesty with aromas of grapefruit, citrus blossoms, white peach, and wet stone. Linear and medium-framed, it also brings good intensity to the palate, with citrus drive but also good ripeness. It has a spritely mousse and offers a good, zesty freshness, but it’s approachable now. Drink over the coming 6-7 years.
Sourced entirely from the racy-fresh 2021 vintage, Gimonnet’s NV Brut Rosé de Blancs 1er Cru is showing well. “We want Chardonnay to dominate over Pinot Noir,” admits Didier Gimonnet. And they have managed this task well, as the wine is delicately chalky, with citrus fruit and floral aromas mingling with red berries. Medium-bodied and laden with ripe acids, it concludes with a perfumed finish. This rosé can be described as simple, but it will offer many opportunities around the table, especially with meat dishes. It was disgorged in September 2024 with six grams per liter dosage.
A medium salmon color, the NV Champagne Rosé De Blancs Brut is based on the 2016 vintage and is almost entirely Chardonnay, with 8% red wine of Pinot Noir added from the Grand Cru village of Bouzy. The wine opens to a perfume of cantaloupe, honeysuckle, pastry dough, and grapefruit zest, and it’s chalky in its texture through the palate, with an ease and approachability that are quite charming while feeling fully dry. This is a very pretty wine to enjoy over the next 6-8 years, although I like it where it is now. Disgorged February 2023, 5 grams per liter dosage.
