Tasting notes
The 1999 Vacqueyras possesses a light ruby color, this varietal's tell-tale cherries macerated in alcohol-like bouquet, and a fragrant, soft personality. Consume it over the next 5-6 years. On my recent visit, Reynaud surprised me by saying wines such as this actually taste better three or four days after they have been opened. I'm not sure I agree, but readers may want to check it out. Medium red. Roasted grenache aromas of cherry and redcurrant. Sweet, thick and liqueur-like; powerful and a bit warm. Strong juice, with distinctly wild black fruit flavors.
About the producer

Domaine des Tours is a separate label to Ch. des Tours, however both ranges are made at the same Vacqueyras property. Part of the Rayas galaxy and made by Emmanuel Reynaud, the wines are a source of great value and offer a glimpse of the Rayas style.
