Score 87-88/100 · Drink 2000-2010, Robert Parker, Oct 2000

The dark ruby-colored 1999 Gigondas is a seductive, mid-weight, open-knit effort with abundant quantities of kirsch liqueur, pepper, herb, and leathery notes. Plump, evolved, and accessible, I would opt for drinking it during its first decade of life. Importer: World Shipper and Importers, Philadelphia, PA; tel. (215) 732-2018

Medium red. Expressive nose of red cherry, roast coffee, smoke and minerals. Rich, round and generous of texture; not hugely intense but broad and mouthfilling. Finishes with ripe, even tannins.
