Saturated red-ruby. Very ripe aromas of dark cherry liqueur and chocolate; shows a grenache-like quality and a whiff of incipient oxidation. Fat, sweet and stuffed with chocolatey fruit but a bit porty in character. The broad finish features chewy, somewhat tough tannins.

Bright crimson. Very rich nose. Sweet start with more than a hint of macerated cherries. Then lots of tannin and chew still. This one definitely needs time and I pick up just a hint of apple skins. (JR)
Deep red-ruby. Sweet, perfumed aromas of dark cherry, dried flowers and nutty oak; flatteur for a wine from old vines. Ripe, sweet and fat with fruit, even if the flavors of black raspberry and cherry show the cool side of the vintage. Quite round in the middle but distinctly oaky on the back end, finishing with some slightly dry wood tannins. I tasted from a new barrel; Lignier assured me that the assemblage will be less oaky than this sample.
Bright cherry. Very lively, clean, bright fruit. A power shower of a wine. Positively yaps at you! (JR)
