Score 90+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2005

Good deep, bright red. Raspberry, humus and underbrush on the nose; slight suggestion of stewed fruits. Then round, broad and vinous but not yet filled in. Very Morey-typical soil tones of wild red berries, smoke, roasted herbs and underbrush. Finishes long and pure, with broad, dusty tannins and emerging red cherry and raspberry fruitiness. Give this five years.

(from a crop level under 30 hectoliters per hectare, according to Lignier) Good red-ruby. Pure, complex nose offers raspberry, cherry, smoke, earth underbrush and minerals. Juicy, stony and tightly wound, with a strong spine and the energy that comes from chalky soil. The most unevolved of these 2002s to this point, finishing juicy and minty, with fine tannins and sneaky length.
