Good medium red. Ripe aromas of black cherry, brown spices and pepper. Fuller-bodied than the 2008 but in a distinctly dry style, with flavors of mocha and spice. Offers less lift and perfume than the Chambolle but this needs a couple years of patience. Slightly rustic.
(still a bit of malic acidity remaining) Good healthy dark red. Sexy aromas of black raspberry, brown spices and espresso. Richer but less sweet than the Chambolle villages, with a briary character to the black cherry and licorice flavors. Densely packed but firmly structured rather than silky. Finishes with very good length. Roumier left a lot of rotten berries on the ground and vinified this wine with 10% whole clusters.
