Score 91/100 · Drink 2000-2006, Pierre Rovani, Aug 1999

Marcel Lapierre's 1997 Morgon explodes from the glass with magnificent aromas of black and red cherries, as well as spices. This is a dense, plump, richly textured, broad, medium to full-bodied wine. Its long finish reveals superbly ripened tannins that will provide this fruit-packed wine with the structure needed for cellaring. Projected maturity: 2000-2006.
