Tasting notes
Bright, deep red-ruby. Lovely lift to the pure aromas of blackberry, violet and mint. Juicy, minty and tightly wound, displaying terrific freshness, focus and cut. Finishes clean and long. This may well merit an outstanding rating in a year or so.

The 2008 Dolcetto d'Alba is a pretty, mid-weight offering with attractive dark fruit, licorice, spices and a characteristic slightly bitter (but not unpleasant) note on the finish. Like so many Dolcettos in 2008, a measure of concentration that this wine usually shows is missing. Still, this is one of the more polished, refined Dolcettos of the vintage.

Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011. Luciano Sandrone's entry-level wines show all the class and elegance that are the hallmarks of this producer's house style.
