Dark red. Aromatic nose combines raspberry, cherry, minerals, mocha, game and earth. Supple and concentrated, with strong fruit lifted by a floral element and supported by firm backbone. The most complete of these 2001s to this point, and the longest and sweetest on the back end. A strong showing.

Good full red. Wild aromas of black cherry, mocha, spices and underbrush. Sweet and sappy but firm, with very ripe black cherry flavors. Fairly closed, tannic wine, with some menthol austerity contributing to the impression of grip.
