Bright medium red. Raspberry and musky underbrush on the reticent nose, with a complicating note of menthol. Sweet and silky in the middle, with nicely integrated acidity, then turns a bit tart on the back end, finishing with building pepper and herb nuances.

Here the beautifully fresh nose is attractively floral with its attractive mix of white orchard fruit and softly oaky aromas. There is a touch of anise to the appealingly delineated and overtly stony flavors that possess fine intensity on the dry, serious and mildly austere finish. This displays good balance and the mid-palate fat is such that this should be approachable young yet repay 4 to 6 years of cellar time as well. Tasted: Jun 15, 2014. Drink: 2016+
