Pale straw-yellow color. Musky aromas of nut oil, ripe apple and pear, with a faint resiny quality. Fat, sweet and rich, with a strong nutty quality not yet in harmony with the wine's brighter orange zest component. The oak element currently dries the finish, but my sample did not become more bitter with aeration. Still, I find this rather large-scaled Bienvenue a bit oxidative.

Tense and nervy on the nose and I would not be surprised to find a Chevalier Montrachet tasting like this. Great depth and tension. A positively athletic wine. Very chewy finish. Lovely balance but extremely youthful. Very long indeed. Lovely. (JR)
