Bright pale yellow. Complex aromas of peach, pear and dried thyme are complicated by a sulfidey leesy nuance and lifted by a floral topnote. Concentrated and vivacious if a bit youthfully aggressive, with pear, menthol and crushed stone flavors showing lovely verve and length. Attractive sucrosite is nicely counterpointed by ripe acidity. I'd wait three or four years before pulling the cork.

Pale yellow-green. Vibrant, precise aromas of lime leaf, thyme and mint. Then rich and pliant on the palate, with lovely texture and restrained sweetness to the flavors of ripe peach, noble herbs, smoky oak and spices. Wonderfully harmonious, classy wine with lovely floral and herbal lift to its persistent white fruit flavors.

Here the nose is aromatically similar to the Pucelles but with even better complexity and elegance. There is fine mid-palate density to the refined and marvelously intense medium-bodied flavors that possess the same fine complexity on the beautifully well-balanced and highly persistent finale. This is very Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet in the sense that it allies finesse and grace with power. Tasted: Jun 15, 2014. Drink: 2019+
