Tasting notes
Score 90/100 · Drink 2009-2014, Robert Parker, Jun 2009

Toasty oak, loamy soil, sweet black cherry and black currant, and a whiff of herbs emerge from this mid-weight 1990's moderately intense bouquet. It reveals the sweetness, lushness, and low acidity that characterize this vintage, but without the deep, concentrated feel some of the top wines of the vintage possess. This wine is close to full maturity, and is not likely to get much better over the next 4-5 years, so consumption is warranted. Release price: ($390.00/case)

Medium red, with some brick at the rim. Lovely spicy, smoky, roasted plum nose, with nuances of underbrush —a dead ringer for Burgundy. Nicely concentrated roasted chestnut flavor, but somewhat austere, with acidity not completely integrated. Finishes firm and slightly tart, showing more acidity than tannins.
