(bottled in July of 2012, along with the Cros Parantoux, due to the late malos; Rouget bottled his other 2010s two months earlier): Medium red. Liqueur-like aromas of red plum and spices show a distinctly candied quality. Like a liquid confection in the mouth, with rich red fruit flavors framed by harmonious acidity and complicated by mocha and coffee notes. A bit youthfully aggressive on the finish, but the tannins are smooth. Rouget says his 2010s give more pleasure now than his '09s or '11s.

(50% new oak): Good medium red. Raspberry, minerals and smoke on the nose. Suave and creamy on the palate, with excellent density to the tangy red cherry and raspberry flavors. Boasts excellent stuffing for its tannins. Sappy, savory and serious village wine, but also very easy to drink. Rougeot lost some fruit to the frost of December '09, in the same spots that were affected by--and replanted after--the frost of 1985.
