Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2004-2011, Pierre Rovani, Dec 2001

The white fruit-scented 2000 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Duc de Magenta has a layered, earth and spice-flavored character. Broad, rich, yet zesty, this is a fresh, well-fashioned wine for drinking between 2004 and 2011. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; tel. (212) 490-9300

(this finished its sugar fermentation in July of 2001) Apple blossom, wet stone and spicy oak on the nose. Concentrated, sweet and harmonious, with fresh fruit flavors of apple and pear. Consistent, showy and long, with the floral quality carrying through on the end. Classic Chassagne-Montrachet from deeper soil.
