Score 91/100 · Drink 2016-2023, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Apr 2016

More fresh and lively than the 2009, yet not as concentrated, the 2008 Limoux Domaine de Baron’Arques (57% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Malbec) exhibits outstanding notes of plums, black currants, chocolate and plenty of spicy oak in its medium to full-bodied, ripe, textured style on the palate. A beautiful red that seems to have one foot in Bordeaux and one foot in the south, it’s drinking great today, yet should hold nicely through 2023.
