(Lamarche's 35-year-old vines are at the south end of this premier cru, which is essentially an enclave located mostly within Romanee-Saint-Vivant) Palish red. Reduced aromas of strawberry and smoke. A step up in intensity from the Chaumes, with a creamy texture and more depth. Still a bit youthfully tight, but the tannins are broader and sweeter and there's more supporting fat here.
