Good citric energy on the nose, along with a spicy component. Dense, rich and firmly built, with lovely cut and intensity to the flavors of pineapple, lemon and flint. Much more successful, and less evolved, than the regular Fourchaume, which was a bit flat by comparison, not to mention drier on the finish, when I retasted it in late May. Here there's serious sneaky length.

(as with the Minots, the vines here are about 65 years of age) Soil-inflected aromas of flint, smoke, wet match and piquillo pepper. Fat, broad and quite dry, with a glyceral texture leavened by a suggestion of new wood. Finishes long, with a faint youthful bitterness.
